Hi!

This is the sign you’ve been looking for, you did not stumble on my post on accident. Please remember that you are a lovely human being who deserves all the good things in life. You deserve roses on your doorsteps, forehead kisses and/or hugs from loved ones, and most importantly, the feeling of knowing that YOU, lovely reader, are going to be just fine. Mistakes happen, wrong choices are made, but that doesn’t change the fact that you need to treat yourself with a little bit of self care. :)

Take a deep breath, relax your shoulders, and let yourself feel whatever you may be feeling.

You will be okay, everything will eventually work out one way or another. Pain is inevitable, but it does not last forever, suffering is only optional.

Don’t leave without seeing the clouds clear after that rainy day, alright?

Stay.

As many of you are looking for a first or a new job, I just wanted to remind you one of many truths regarding work in capitalism-mandatory happy society : it's okay to not do a job that you love as long as

- it's not soul crushing, like legally scamming poor old people

- it's not actively environment and society destroying, like private jet pilot

- it pays you what you think is fair for the work you do

- it leaves you enough free time to do what you actually love

It's perfectly fine to have a bläh desk job that is useless. It's perfectly fine to be waitressing tables every nights and doing whatever you like aside. Let's stop this instragramy bullshit that you have to work hard on your job and/or that your job must be your passion. A good job is simply one that gets you pay and that allows you to still look at yourself in the mirror.

From someone who used to work for a big petrol company promoting destruction of the earth, then as my dream job which turned out to be an absolutely nightmare, then as a boring desk job which allows me to get my life together, and hopefully as a science editor starting in September.

get okay with being some level of burden on others, seriously

totallyfubar

you know what’s a real burden? a person that is so scared of leaning on other people that they try to be completely self sufficient and you end up either having to help them indirectly to save their ego or they have to break down in order to receive help, both of which are so much more heavy to the person that loves them than just being leaned on casually
